Concussion Recovery Support at Philly Naturopathic

I remember seeing a sign at a bike shop in University City many years back. It was next to a helmet and read: College is expensive. Protect your investment.

It’s funny… and it’s true. Our brain health is so important to our overall health and sense of wellbeing. Whether it stems from an obvious incident, like a car accident, fall or sports injury, or something more subtle like a bonk on the head, a concussion can really throw off the quality of your day-to-day life.

Symptoms can be obvious or they can be subtle and may take time to show up. They may resolve quickly or can linger for days, months or even years. In fact, I ask my patients about their concussion history to gather whether past head injury could be contributing to chronic issues. Here are a few questions to explore to investigate whether concussion recovery at Philly Naturopathic is a good path for you.

What might it look like to work with Dr. Michal as part of my concussion recovery?

  • It starts with a free connection call to discuss what you’re looking for and to ask questions. Together, we can decide whether this approach is a good fit for you

  • Our initial appointment can happen in person, over the phone or by secure video. We’ll have plenty of time for you to share your story. If you come into the office, it may include a CranioSacral assessment.

  • A Care Guide appointment happens within 1-3 weeks of the first visit and outlines the specifics of your personalized care, including how to be in touch with questions, check-in appointments to make sure you are supported along the way and follow-up appointments to measure your progress.

  • Your care may include a series of CranioSacral visits to address the structural dysfunction caused by and contributing to your symptoms. The number varies on a number of factors, but I recommend starting with 3 sessions over the course of 3-8 weeks.
