Philly Naturopathic’s
winter blues crew
a 3-part series for anyone who gets S.A.D.* in our darkest months of the year
you don’t have to do it alone this time around
*S.A.D.= seasonal affective disorder
winter at the 40th parallel
As the days get shorter, do you notice…
your mood feels consistently low?
you don’t feel like doing the things you usually enjoy?
your appetite changes, possibly eating more and craving sweets?
your sleep changes… sleeping more than usual?
you feel tired, like really really tired even though you’re sleeping?
you feel bad about yourself?
The American Psychiatric Association estimates ~5% of U.S. adults experience Seasonal Affective Disorder and that number increases at the northern latitudes (like Philly at 40 degrees north of the equator). We’re talking tens of thousands of people! Even without a diagnosis, many people around here experience a sub-clinical condition known as the winter blues.
So…what goes on at winter blues crew?
Each session in the series is designed to be educational, experiential and motivational. You’ll have a chance to learn about the science of S.A.D., to set realistic goals for yourself and to stay inspired and connected. While you’ll likely get the most out of attending live, session re-cap emails will be sent to everyone who’s signed up.

Hey there, I'm Dr. Michal, a licensed naturopathic doctor.
When I moved to the west coast to study naturopathic medicine-- a prevention-focused, whole-systems approach to health-- I imagined bringing what I learned to my hometown.
My vision for Philly Naturopathic is to be a resource for nurturing high-quality, community supported healthcare. This is my small way of practicing my belief that healthcare is a human right.
I studied, trained and practiced at the … parallel in Seattle, WA!

Some start noticing a change in October or November (especially after daylight savings time ends) and for many it really hits in December or January.
